Here is a copy of her speech.

Life After Death
By Courtney Charee Ellis

If I ask you what your plans 10 years from now, most of you would respond graduated from high school, college, in short, getting out of here. So you're out of school, you would have a job, married, and maybe having kids. Let's look 30 years ahead, careers establishedand kids pretty much grown. Retirement is around the corner. Now we're retired and thinking about fishing, golf, shopping, or even walking the malls. After retirement, then what are your plans? Let's face it: sooner or later each individual in the room will have to die.

An ongoing question for some is what happens when we die? We do know death isn't an imaginary state of being. Evidence of this is abound when we pass a cemetery. We also know that you don't carry earthly possessions with you. Have you ever attended a funeral with a moving truck awaiting the crowd? No, because death comes regardless of race, economical status, or age.

The debatable question is what happens after we die? Here the southern Bible belt, most believe in a heaven or a hell after they leave this life. As we get older we will realize not everyone believes this fact. Religion comes into question opening a variety of views among many people. 80% of americans say they belive in life after death, 2/3 say they believe in heaven.

The Bible is the number one bookseller in history. It has several translations but here we find reading that tells you what to expect after death.

Death decides for us, these decisions we have previously made. We have choices, being that Jesus allowed us to choose between heaven and hell. If you ask where God came into the picture look at the Webster Dictionary for Heaven. Heaven's defined as the abode of God and his angels, where virtuous souls receive eternal reward after death. The Bible describes Heaven as a place of peace, no tears, pearly gates streets of gold (not tar, rock or gravel). This place is beyond our comprehension. Hell is defined as abode for the dead, agony, suffering. According to the Bible, its defined as a place where there's weeping and gnashing of teeth. Where the worm dieth not and the fire in never quenched.

If you choose to make heaven your home and don't know how to acquire it open the Bible and find the book of Romans, find chapter 10 and read verse 9 and 10. This shows you how to obtain a peaceful, life after this life or you can simlpy ignore it and opt for having an unpeaceful life after this life.

I close with this comment: the decisions you make now are the consequences of your future.

Thank You So Much!,
Allyson Wooten
